All about the Amos Family and other people they have touched and the places they all have lived...  Both then and NOW

Welcome to the Amos Family!

This Amos family has its origins in Rhondda Fach in South Wales and like many  families has spread across the UK and further afield.  The site contains information about some current family members as well those of the past.

This will  include some history of those families that merged into this Amos family: surnames such as Price, Phillips, Thomas and Evans. It will also include some history of the places in which family members have lived. There is much on the village of Bedlinog which was the village of my birth but I hope to include in the future some information about other places too.

Tracing the Amos family has been limited to a few generations: my paternal grandfather seems to have a hidden past and we cannot seem to find concrete details of his parents! Maybe he was not even an Amos!  It is just as well that other branches of the family are a little more conventional to research. Richard Amos married Anna Phillips and settled in Ferndale in the Rhondda valleys: the Phillips family has its origins in the Llanboidy area Carmarthenshire  and like so many agricultural families through Wales and England moved to industrial centres where they hoped for a better life.

I hope to be able to include again some interactive elements to allow others to participate and contribute their stories about the past and importantly about current events surrounding them.
